Spiritus ARMS Refugee and Migrant Service

Spiritus ARMS provides support and referrals for the ongoing settlement needs of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, with a particular focus on education, language, literacy and employment opportunities.

ARMS was founded in 1981 when a parish-based community support group was formed by St John's Anglican Cathedral. This group assisted newly arrived refugees who requested assistance from the cathedral community. ARMS evolved directly from this group and today ARMS' services are available for all refugees and migrants in the Brisbane area (regardless of visa category). Located in northern and southern Brisbane, ARMS' programs focus on family support, education and employment.

Spiritus ARMS is committed to
• Promoting social justice and equality as basic human rights
• Improving quality of life through education, literacy, and employment training and support
