E M Tooth Memorial Home at Manly was established in 1963 by a bequest from Sir Edwin Marsden Tooth, a Brisbane businessman and philanthropist. The residential area incorporates the Georgian-styled Lota house, built in 1867 for William Duckett White, pastoralist and politician, and his wife. The property was bought and further developed by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane in the 1960s and was renovated in 2001.

EM Tooth Memorial Home located at 162 Oceana Tce Manly has modern facilities catering for: 64 residential aged care places, including 5 self-funded places; ageing-in-place; and includes 24 secure dementia-specific places. The home also offers respite care, 5 independent living units (rental) and 14 independent living units (self-funded).

The home offers residents a range of additional services including access to a hairdressing salon, laundry, canteen, doctor’s surgery, church services and access to a large community area for residents to meet and enjoy social activities.

Activities and outings are arranged for residents by Diversional Therapists. A bus (with hoist) also ensures that even the less mobile residents are able to participate.
