Spiritus Multi-Cultural Program

Spiritus promotes equality of access to care, regardless of language, culture or religion and welcomes and respects people from all cultures and language backgrounds.

Our Multicultural Program is a resource to all Home and Community Care (HACC) funded service providers in Brisbane North and Brisbane South.  This program promotes access and equity for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who are eligible for HACC services.  

We have translated information and work with interpreters.

Services for individuals:

Spiritus Multicultural supports other Spiritus services to enable them to provide
•    culturally-sensitive nursing and home care services
•    use of interpreters; and
•    links with ethno-specific services.


Services for other service providers:

Spiritus Multicultural program supports other service providers with:

• Consultancy for planning culturally responsive service to meet HACC standards;
• Information and advocacy on the needs of HACC-eligible clients who are from CALD backgrounds;
• Education and training in cross-cultural awareness, working with interpreters, and culturally-competent care assessments; and
• Links with ethno-specific and multicultural service.
